“American Sign Language Course – 8 Weeks – Starting September 27th @ 7pm”

Course Description

This course is designed for those who have no knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). You will learn vocabulary, fingerspell, numbers, alphabet, sentence structures and basic grammar. You will learn how to introduce yourself, everyday communication such as exchanging information, asking for clarification and learn about Deaf culture.

Class Experience

  • I will be teaching the participants sign language by zoom from my power point. They will interact with me as a teacher and each other. I provide activities which are fun and interactive. After the lesson, they will be practicing on their own before the next lesson.

  • American Sign Language is a beautiful, expressive and versatile language with an unique grammar structure, syntax, facial expression, hand shapes, etc. This could also be an opportunity for a new career or communicating with the Deaf community.
  • Bill C-81, Accessible Canada Act has been passed in the House of Commons - recognizing American Sign Language (ASL), Langue des signes Québécoises (LSQ), and Indigenous Sign Language (ISL) as primary languages for the Deaf in Canada.
  • I am a qualified & certified teacher who has been teaching students for more than 15 years, so I have a lot of experiences.
  • I make teaching fun and interactive, I also share my personal experiences and real life stories with the students so they can understand the Deaf culture.
